First food post!! :)
During Spring Break, we promise one of our friends, let’s call her J.P for now, that we would show her around Richmond because we hadn’t hanged out for a while now and she hadn’t really explored Richmond before.  So we promised J.P that we will take show her around. Since she is a major Arashi fan, we thought we would show her where she can buy Arashi CDs too. J.P is a food lover just like us! And she loves manga <3 All we ever talk about is manga and food <3 LOL we don’t have lives.
We wanted to eat the Toast Box at What8ver Café in Union Square at Capstan Way but for some apparent reason it was closed that day!!! We were disappointed.  I really wanted to show J.P the toast box :(
Hungry we debated where we should eat for lunch. We decided to just eat in Union Square because we didn’t want to walk far. LOL, we can’t help it, we’re lazy.  The three choices we had were Bubble World, Tapioca Express and Best Bubble Café.  Being the indecisive people we are, we did rock, paper scissors after spending like 20 minutes debating on where we would eat. Faith won, she was Best Bubble Café (I (Grace) was fighting for that restaurant btw) so off we went to Best Bubble Café.
When we went inside there was hardly anyone there but as time passed on, more and more people came in. We were greeted the moment we walked in and they asked if we wanted water or tea, we asked for tea and they gave it to us right away. There were 2 menus, one normal menu and a lunch special menu (11am – 5pm) which has cheaper selections for lunch.
The food:
The moment we sat down to look at the menu, I immediately knew what I wanted to order. The Fried Chicken Nuggets with Noodle ($6.18) from the special lunch menu because I was craving for some fried chicken nuggets.

When my meal came, I was surprised on how large the bowl of noodles was! It was huge! The noodles were yellow noodles, had a lot of vegetables and topped with meat sauce. It came with a large portion of chicken nuggets and a small bowl of homemade grass jelly.  This was definitely worth my money! (Well Faith’s money)
The chicken was crispy and nicely seasoned with a lot of basil which was fried to perfection. It was delicious! J.P, Faith and I really liked it a lot! The noodles were Al Dente and had a nice broth and I became full very fast because of it. I felt the grass jelly was very diluted and did not taste that good.

J.P had the Taiwanese Sausage with Noodles ($6.18) from the special lunch menu. It was basically the same as mine but Taiwanese sausage instead of chicken nuggets.
The Taiwanese sausage was deep fried and it had a sweet sauce with green onions on top of it. She thought it was too sweet and we both agreed with her but otherwise it was a good dish. The noodles, she liked a lot. J.P hardly even touch the grass jelly, she thought it was weird…
Faith had the Spicy Shredded Pork Fried Rice ($7.50). It was from the regular menu.

The fried rice was spicy! Very spicy! We didn’t think it would be very spicy. Well for us it was but for J.P, who is use to spicy things, thought it wasn’t really that spicy. The portion was huge and she couldn’t finish it. The fried rice had a lot of pork and eggs. Overall she liked the dish (even if it was a little-spicy).
In conclusion we would defiantly come back for the special lunch menu! The food was better than some Taiwanese Restaurants. The service was good; the waiter came to refill our cups many times unlike other restaurant who don’t even refill the cups.  The place was clean and spacious with a lot of sunlight. The food was a very big portion and we had to take a lot of it home. We didn’t try their BBT but we would try it next time!
